In the distant future, astronaut John Baker is the fourteenth generation of cloned ambassador and sole occupant aboard a claustrophobic exploratory craft drifting through deep space. His only company is the ships artificial intelligence or AI, Connie.

Born aboard the ship and raised entirely by Connie, Baker-Fourteen is unremarkable in almost every single way, until a very bizarre personal encounter with the eighth incarnation of himself begins a chain reaction of mistrust, paranoia and violence.

Millions of miles from planet Earth and trapped within the tight confines of the machine that made him, Baker-Fourteen has questions about previous Baker ambassadors that Connie cannot or will not answer, and as he becomes increasingly desperate to uncover the truth, Connie must ensure that the vessels mission continues... at any cost.
