Fangala

A “THE LIBRARY OF GOLDEN THOUGHTS” FILM
WRITTEN BY Drew Pollock

A Psychodelic, dark comedy.
Have you heard of the Higgs Boson? If you haven’t, google that s#!t because the world’s greatest scientists are currently hunting for it – and he’s just arrived in New Zealand.
Stepping out of the airport, no one would assume that the lanky, Hispanic youth with the small suitcase was ‘a single particle responsible for imparting mass to all things – an energy so precious it has come to be known as the “God particle’. Also known as Fangala, he is in fact an ancient Mystical Shaman from Bolivia. His foul-mouthed, little companion – a 30cm traditional Bolivian mask sprouting arms and legs –will fill you in on the finer details but as you’ll see; Fangala isn’t the only mystical being amongst us.
However, the real question you should be asking yourself; is how this elemental priest even managed to get in the country? Nay, why did he even come here?
For several decades Fangala has been plagued by visions and voices calling him across the sea. The easiest method to gain entry was a student visa. As everything happens for a reason, it will be in the seedy and competitive world of Homestay Mothers and their exotic dependants – that Fangala will meet his fellow allies. A Massai Warrior, an Onna Bushi Heroine female Samurai, A Romanian Gypsy... and his Homestay Mother’s overweight and unemployed Brother – Daryn. Fangala will have to work with these disparate and uncooperative entities, as well as overcome his addiction to streaming light from hapless women joggers he assaults on rollerblades along Mission Bay... if they are to defeat... The Crying Man.
