Middleditch Family Dancers

A “HAND-OUT COLLABORATIVE” FILM
WRITTEN BY Becca Barnes

Taking inspiration from God, rugby and alpacas, the Middleditch Family Dancers are three time runners up of the New Zealand Interpretive Dance Championships.

In a rare glimpse inside their private world, Geraldine, Little Steve and Jean-Marie agree to be filmed in the lead up to the 2012 competition. Determination to finally take home gold has never been stronger, but this year the path is paved with set backs. Faced for the first time with creative disagreements in their tight-knit team, and with long-time rivals threatening to pip them at the post, the Middleditches must persevere and find something new in themselves in order to create the most elusive of beasts: THE PERFECT DANCE.

In the spirit of “Best in Show” and “Kenny”, this riotously funny story lifts the lid on a quirky New Zealand family. With determination, laughter, and an original view on life, the Middleditch family will dance you to the edge of your seat.
