A “Structure Unlimited” FILM
WRITTEN BY Paul-Thomas Parnell & Dave Manthei

Three childhood friends grew up loving their city’s superhero squad (The Defenders), hoping to one day join their ranks. Now adults, “real life” has turned their childhood dreams into faded memories. The most responsible of the three, William is a research scientist, spending every day in the lab, while his department head takes all the credit for his discoveries. Steve and Malcolm, William’s two friends, push brooms at the same research facility.

On a day like every other day, Steve and Malcolm are cleaning animal remains from William’s sample chamber, when a freak accident triggers the machine. The three are showered in a lethal dose of radiation and yet, somehow, they survive.

Strange, unexplainable things start happening around them, as they slowly realize that they’re developing super powers. With childhood dreams reawakened, Steve insists they seek out and join The Defenders. Heart-break strikes when The Defenders relegate them to the B-team, though Steve’s child-like enthusiasm is unfazed.

Now second-string superheroes, they’re left changing the city’s nasty nappies, while The Defenders get all the glory. Once again the three find themselves as underdogs, but the city soon learns that it’s better to have underdogs than hot dogs.
