PharmaceutiKill

When a group of medical students join a Pharmaceutical drug trial for money, the resulting rage-virus outbreak needs to be contained, leaving them locked in the ward under quarantine, - fighting for their lives.

A “Scribble Pictures” FILM
WRITTEN BY Simon Hall

Rage. It’s why we hit our kids. It’s what you want to do to your childhood bully. It’s why we pick fights. It’s inside us – waiting to get out.

Adam starts awake in the darkness, strange wet sounds disturbing him. He creeps through the ward looking for the source of the sound. He flicks a lamp on only to find one of the fellow test subjects chewing on the prone body of another. The woman leers up, eyes wild, smeared in blood, before lunging at him in a frenzy………

When Adam, his girlfriend and three of their med-school flat mates decide to join a Pharmaceutical drug trial to pay for a trip to Vegas, little did they know it was a gamble that wouldn’t pay off.

The trial starts simply enough, studying the interaction between two anti-psychotic drugs on a randomized time delay on twenty test subjects from all walks of life. Side effects? Dry mouth, a little paranoia, - nothing serious. The friends lie back and think of the money as the lights in the ward flicker out.

After Adam discovers the rabid, insane woman, all hell breaks loose. As the subjects manage to subdue and lock her into a separate room, the booming sound of doors slamming shut echo through the ward. The medical staff, fearing some new viral outbreak, lock the doors and bar the windows.

Quarantine. The subjects are trapped, gradually realizing with horror that the drugs are on a time delay – any one of them could turn at any moment. They eye each other suspiciously - blame, fear and mob tactics already forming.

Can a cure be found? Is someone behind this? Can they escape? For Adam and his med-student friends, this will be the hardest exam of all; with survival the only pass mark.
