Edward macklebee (writer, drug addict, alcoholic and self proclaimed "winner") has it sweet.
Living rent free in an old beach house left to him by his grandfather, he whittles away the time by getting hammered and occasionally trying to write his first novel.

When dumped by his girlfriend for being an unproductive member of society, he hits the bottle hard, with the bender to end all.
During his drunken meandering, he comes across a cynical palm reader who is preparing for the end of the world.
She tells him that should it occur, the only safe place is a village called Little light.

He wakes the next day to find that there is no sun, no power and most technology is down.
Not to mention the world has been filled with unimaginable horrors.
With a mean hangover, a backpack full of intoxicants and a homicidal vagrant who wants him dead, leaving town seems like the only thing for edward to do.

with lamp in hand, edward encounters countless freaks, monsters and fellow traveller's in his journey through a nightmarish world devoid of light.
