While working on her PhD, Chloe Otene uncovers evidence of a lost village, destroyed hundreds of years earlier. She convinces her friends Dylan and Cassie to accompany her on a trip to uncover the settlement and its fate.

They soon learn the hideous legends surrounding the village and why the local tribes annihilated it. At the site Chloe’s group uncover evidence of a settlement that seems to support the stories. Their investigation unwittingly awakens something else from the depths of history, something that has been waiting long years for new prey.

The group’s celebrations are interrupted by betrayal in the night and the return of the ancient evil of legend. Together they must work together to survive and prevent the nightmare from spreading again.

With time they will learn that no one stares into the abyss and remains unchanged.
