A Long Time Coming

A “Span Films” FILM
WRITTEN BY Ben Spink & Lizzie Tollemache

Emotionally restrained, fashionably alternative, and living in oblivion; Max and his friends are those most trendy of creatures: hipsters. Despite their best efforts to cling to apathy, the real world has other plans as the final year of university life draws to an end.

In a last ditch effort to avoid responsibility, Max's friends invite him on a pilgrimage to see Morrissey performing live in Auckland. Funds are tight, and jeans are tighter, as the four scrounge up enough cash for the trip.

Hurtling faster along the bumpy road towards both Morrissey and the inevitable question of "what do you do with a BA in Sociology?" the group crash into a forced stop-over with Gina's humiliatingly normal small-town parents.

Finally reaching the big smoke in time for the gig, the rest of the gang descend into their usual antics, while a disastrous night causes Max to re-evaluate love, art, the future, and the perfect play-list.
