AMBROs

A “2e Media Charitable Trust” FILM
WRITTEN BY Warren Elliott

Nick and Hemi have been friends since they were kids, with nothing in common aside from their last names, earning them the ironical nickname of the Harris brothers. Both are forced to question their lives when Nick discovers his wife needs more then he’s been giving and Charlie is forced to retired his iconinc university status as its life long student.
Reunited in their self ptiy the two ‘bros’ fall into a mid life crisis bender that see them waking in the back of a truck on the road side at a village where strange is an understatement. A simple helping hand to a local in need sets gossip amuck and the local mayor, seeing another opportunity to turn talents and trades to his own ends and whimiscal ideas for making the town special, persuades Nick and Hemi to take on the exciting roles as the Community Ambulance crew.
After two weeks of fast and hilarious training in the big smoke the bro’s return to start their new roles only to discover that they had now become like everybody else in the village, indebted to the mayor for the full – and hugely inflated - cost of the training. Unable to leave, Nick and Hemi set up a life style and a sereis of pranks designed to challenge the mayors hold over them and take charge of their ‘ambulance’, a hearse that seems to have a mind of its own. They soon discover that everyone does everything except their own job especially if they can get someone else to do it for them. Emergency calls of the medical kind are rare here but the boys are in high demand all the same, dodging cardiac inducing electric fences to give CPR to Tractors, rescue monster children and save Mrs PeeLady from the flying cows that have reportedly invaded her mushroom farm. Meanwhile a mysterious outbreak of stomach cramps had put a strain on the local plumbers and septic tank cleaners. Their training never prepared them for all this but the hapless Harris brothers fumble and bluff their way through each callout leaving behind them a wake of mishaps, trauma, and crazy ideas that encourage the locals to break free from the mayor’s financial hold. Hearing of this, the mayor sets the brothers up to fail and sends them packing. But things have changed for the, ‘bros’, Nick has discovered the word, ‘no’, that its not always his fault, Charlie realises he’s in love, as actually fininshed something and above all is about to give up an endless supply of free feeds. United in their decision the AMBRO’s take it into their own hands to correct their mistakes, free the town folk and ultimately discover the cause of the mysterious illness ,the fate of the town’s former ambulance driver, and put right what generations of inbreeding undid.
