Coal Fire

A “Meehan Brothers” FILM
WRITTEN BY Chad Meehan

An ex S.A.S. soldier, Steve works as security for a privately owned coal fired power plant. The owner tells him he is having trouble with some local crackpot protesters and sends him over to bust some heads and scare them off but Steve is shocked to find that the protesters are a very small community of families with children waving posters. He was led to believe they were dangerous and illegal.

Steve goes in to see the boss, Larry Walker, who is very disappointed to hear of his failure and fires him. His personal bodyguard, Dwayne, a large, mean son of a… tries to throw Steve out and there is a tense stand off between them. Steve wonders why Larry is being such a jerk and not listening to his concerns and so does a little investigating. He discovers there is truth to the protesters claims and Larry is not playing by the rules, Steve becomes involved in the protesters cause. He meets a woman in their group whom he falls for and for the first time Steve finds meaning in his life as he, Barbara and her son, Lucas form a relationship. Steve confronts Larry and demand the people are left alone or he will take his information to the media. Larry relents and asks that Steve set up a meeting with the protesters so he can cut a deal.

But Larry is not a fair guy and he did not get to where he is today without standing on people. Before Steve realises it, he has been crossed and now he has a fight on his hands if he is to help the people and protect Barbara and Lucas, and he has to decide just how far he is willing to go to do the right thing.
