Dark Road

A “Meehan Brothers Films” FILM
WRITTEN BY Chad Meehan

A chance meeting on the road begins a series of events that have devastating results. Two young women are travelling on the road in a van when they come upon a good looking young man, John, hitching his way through the countryside. They decide to give him a ride and a little while later the trio find themselves parking up at a woody rest stop for some private fun in the back of the van.

John dozes off and later wakes in the back of the van to find his hosts missing, assuming they are out walking he leaves a short thank you note and makes his way back to the road to continue hitching a ride.

A short while later two young women are found brutally murdered at a rest stop not far from the van they were driving. The local cop, father of one of the murdered girls vows revenge and as the investigation quickly draws its only suspect whose DNA and sightings put him at the scene at the right time he makes a call to a man known in police circles as Mr. Smith. He is the man the cop’s call when things get real bad, when they need someone tracked down, and never found.

Meanwhile John finds an ally on the road who can help him, trained in the SAS, Jim has the ability to help John stay hidden until he can figure out how to prove his innocence. They must keep moving to stay one step ahead of Mr. Smith, but John soon discovers the body count climbing and it is all pointing to him. There is more to fear on the road than just that of the ever closer Mr. Smith. Who can he trust and whom should he fear?
