Dead of Night

A “Better than Nothing Films” FILM
WRITTEN BY Duncan Allan

Driving through the dead of night to reach their holiday destination, the Smith family take a shortcut down an unlit gravel road that cuts through a small town. As they approach the town the car's engine stops dead and the car rolls to a stop. They are surrounded by nothing but silence. As the family discuss what to do, the car's headlights reveal someone slowly approaching. The stranger walks silently past, not saying a word, not even looking at the car, despite the Smith families attempts to gain the strangers attention. Soon another person follows, then another and another until hundreds of strangers are walking slowly past them. They are oblivious to the car, walking as if in a trance. As the Smith family watch the strangers disappear in to the black void behind them, they realise they are left with two choices: Follow the strangers in to the pitch black night or venture forward in to the town to look for help. Both decisions will lead to a Lynchian nightmare of mystery and terror as the family begins to discover what has happened to the townspeople.
