A “Grim Sky Productions” FILM
WRITTEN BY Alex Jones

You wouldn't steal a car.... Or would you?

In the almost Orwellian society of New Zealand 2025, the internet of the public is monitored so closely by the government, that film piracy has not been able to operate for over ten years.

Doug and Oliver are two film and television nerds finishing their final year of high school, whose lives are going nowhere. They are horrified when their favourite television show is canceled for New Zealand broadcast, due to poor viewership. Faced with never seeing the show's final season, which has already aired in the states, the two figure out a way around the security of the internet, and manage to obtain the entire series on their computers.

Realizing they can use the same system to download almost any movie or show they want, Doug and Oliver start collecting, and sharing with their friends, and eventually with strangers over the internet.

Before they know it, the two geeky losers from nowhere find themselves running the first international film piracy network in ten years. However, as their operation grows larger, so does the interest from the government and authorities, and precautions must be taken to avoid not only their website being taken down, but also getting caught themselves, and sentenced to prison. At the same time Doug and Oliver must deal with their last year at school, their social lives, and ultimately their own friendship's foundations.

How much control should the government have on their people? Can you justify piracy, and if so where do you draw the line? Doug and Oliver soon discover the ethics of their file sharing, and the consequences of a life of what some may consider crime.
