Evil Mutant Fishmen From Planet Hell Must Die! (a love story)

A “Half Full” FILM
WRITTEN BY Luke Watkinson

Evil Mutant Fishmen From Planet Hell Must Die! (a love story) is a movie about love and passion, a movie about movies, and a movie about experiences. Alec is the proprietor of a small tumbledown independent cinema with tattered posters proclaiming the playing times of a plethora of old drive-in b-movies. Struggling with enormous debt and his own impending adulthood, Alec is going through a lot of anxiety about these things forcing him to 'grow up'. His bank has recently assigned junior associate Stephan to Alec's case, and Alec has decided, without any consideration of the man's character, that Stephan will be the villain to his hero. The regulars at the cinema are his only customers, and most of them are nearly as obsessed with film as he is. Alec employs Rachel, Steve, and antisocial projectionist Aden, who are like family to him. Rachel is a down to earth, fun sort of girl, Steve a self professed underground art-house legend, and Aden an experienced tech guy. During films Alec, Rachel and Steve congregate on a battered couch behind the screen, where they watch a perfectly illuminated audience as they experience the film that they themselves know so well. But when the stresses of keeping the cinema running on his own drive Alec into a world of bizarre fantasy and sinister rubber-mask-clad threats then the fishmen arrive.
