Hemingway's

A “Rugby Fans” FILM
WRITTEN BY Titi Wainui

Her young son murdered and her own life threatened, journalist Vita flees home to New Zealand, and camps out at the best job she can find, running a community radio station in Wellington’s trendy Cuba Quarter. She meets a street kid, Tai, sheltering in a nearby shed, and across the backyard, she gets to know two workers at Hemingway’s, an upmarket restaurant. And at Hemingway’s she sees the man she’s crossed the world to escape, eating with ex-All Black Firefly Jones.

Hemingway’s is known for its New Year parties. Everyone wants an invite. This year, the theme is local film Boy: crays, a special green dessert. Vita’s there, and so is Firefly. With Tai.

Burdened by her grief and anger, and concerned for Tai, Vita investigates. Her Hemingway’s mates help and hinder when they offer Tai a job and question her suspicions.

And then it’s the Sevens Tournament. Will they be able to protect Tai in a huge crowd that includes at least one killer?
