I Was A Teenage Ninja

A “Protocol Pictures” FILM
WRITTEN BY Musonda John Katongo

Lance is an average 17 year-old from Glendene (West Auckland). When he's not at his crap fast food job, or arguing with his mum, he's getting drunk with his mate Jimmy and Jimmy's older brother.

Things start to fall apart when he loses his job and his girlfriend dumps him. Through a series of chance events he is introduced to Kane, the Sensei of an unusual and secretive local ninja school. Kane recognises Jimmy's untapped potential and quickly initiates him into the school, with ever more crazy and dangerous challenges.

Before long everything in Lance's life is turned upside down, and he's forced to confront the responsibilities of new-adulthood, while being drawn into a bizarre and mysterious subculture.

This is a comedy in the tone of Wes Anderson; grounded in reality with solid characters, but an off-beat vibe.
