Imaginary

A “Hand-Out Collaborative” FILM
WRITTEN BY Becca Barnes and Christopher Stratton

At age sixteen, Daniel’s only mate is his wild imaginary friend Penny. After moving to small town Mosgiel, Daniel finds he’s not the only one making up friends. Mosgiel girl Rachael and her imaginary friend Nate soon collide into Daniel’s life.

Penny and Nate just want to have fun, but Rachael’s Mum is dead, and she hates the woman her Dad is about to marry. Busy with his own troubles, Daniel privately wrestles teenage hormones he didn’t sign up for. The imaginary friends badly want to help, but as Rachael and Daniel rely increasingly on each other, Penny and Nate have to act out to be heard. Rachael and Daniel must reign in the products of their imagination in order to finally deal with their problems and grow up.

IMAGINARY is the heartwarming coming of age story of two Kiwi teenagers learning about life, love, and the power of imagination.
