Roadtrap

A “Nexus” FILM
WRITTEN BY Julian Terris

JD, Miki, Shay, Lucy Sarah and Rea are at JD’s older brother’s apartment –playing a drinking game. They decide that they are going to go to Auckland for the Big Day Out. JD -who owns the van, manages to swing the vote to the BDO.

JD, Miki and Shay work for JD’s older brother’s car grooming/rental car business –which is a front for a drug dealing network. JD reminds the other two guys that their girlfriends will dump them if they find out how they pay for their lifestyle.

The boys pull up outside the girls Kelburn flat to pick up them up. On the way up the Rimutaka’s Miki gets annoyed by a motorcyclist who is tailgating them. Miki deliberately prevents the biker from passing them. After everyone remonstrates with him –he lets the biker past. An hour later the biker is on the side of the road -Miki can’t help giving him the finger.

In a game of cat and mouse, the 6 friends try to out wit the biker. The girls want to call the police, but JD, Miki, and Shay argue that they do not need to. JD admits that they have contraband in the van. Shay insists that they do not need protection because they have a revolver. The girls freak out and insist that they are going to get out of the van. Miki reminds them that they are now miles from nowhere and that night is falling. The girls relent and they set off for the beech.

They build a bonfire and pitch a tent. They drink beer under the stars and play guitar, but a mile down the beech; -they see a motorcycle head light go out. Sarah freaks which intensifies the mood of the group. What follows is murder and mayhem.
