It starts small, with a handful of the richest of the rich undergoing Suffering Transfer to well paid and carefully monitored recipients, employees of Suffering Inc.

Driven by an insatiable hunger for profit and the growing marketplace competition, firms are forced to conduct ever shadier dealings in the third world.

Before long thousands of exploited human beings are forced by circumstance to shoulder the burden of millions of their wealthy counterparts a world away, who remain all the while unaware of the terrible fate of their Suffering Transfer recipients. Some recipients die, amongst them children, while others are horribly disfigured by the process.
