Te Moa - Bird of Prey

It's 1983: Japanese scientists are in search of the extinct Giant Moa in rugged South-island bush labeled the 'Dinoris triangle'. This imaginary boundary encloses rumored sightings of the Moa (Dinoris). The Japanese team are using computer reconstructions to reproduce the vocal call of the Moa in hope of a reply. No findings are ever published. The experiment is assumed unsuccessful.

Present day. Mike Shields, lecturer in Ornithology and Conservation, has tagged onto a foreign prospecting team. Mike's only way to enter the 'Dinoris Triangle' is to join with those who may ultimately destroy it.

Soon, the leader of the team is incapacitated in a fall. They find themselves lost and out of communication. They discover remains of the old Japanese camp. Film in the Japanese cameras is beyond salvage. Some taped recordings still work. They are sounds of panic and terror. One by one the men disappear. The rest are turning back into savages to survive, using the now dead leader as bait and food. They dare not take shelter in the nearby cave. Mike is now the last surviver, he kits himself up and abandons the camp. Playing the recording, he ventures into the cave.
