The Worst Eleven

A “ICW Productions” FILM
WRITTEN BY Rajeev Mishra & Andy James

Praneet and Scott are 12 year olds and the best of friends. They like comic books, Star Trek, building model aeroplanes and drawing Batman. They don't do sport. Yet every Saturday, as per their dads' wishes, they pack their bags, put on their shin pads and head off to play the gentleman's sport: cricket. And they suck. Their entire team sucks.

Their team, "Hutt District's Junior Cricket Division, District E Team IV" is at the bottom of the pile, with no hope of advancement. There's Praneet and Scott (nerds), Michael (the wild kid), Johnny (the uncooperative loner), Sarah (the only girl, lacking in confidence), Nathan (the noncompetitive gentle giant), Thomas (over-confident), Alex (the coach’s son that really doesn't care),Tim (the runt), Richard (who's never there) and Phil (the fat kid who's always eating). They truly are the "Worst Eleven".

As the season starts, they reluctantly gear up and head into the arena for another year's
worth of humiliation and defeat. However, when a virulent strand of poisonous shellfish strikes the annual Hutt Districts Cricket Special Luncheon, most of the teams are taken ill
and have to withdraw from competition. Suddenly the members of Hutt District's Junior Cricket Division, District E Team IV are moving up in the world! With a lot of hard work and some new tactics, these losers could actually come out on top! Or maybe third or fourth (let's not get ahead of ourselves).

Now all they have to do is face off against The Wakefield High First Eleven: The Haast Eagles. The toughest, meanest group of 12 year olds to ever wield a cricket bat. The nerds and losers of District E Team IV have a lot of gearing up to do for the hardest challenge of their lives.

Will the Worst Eleven rise to the challenge?
