Zombie Lockdown

A “The Spartacus Appreciation Society” FILM
WRITTEN BY Nathan Crocker

Anastasia, the Rake, earned her nickname by beating her daughter's kindergarten teacher unconscious with a rake. Doing time for assault, the Rake can kick the ass of convicts and guards alike. When the prison guards start acting strangely she wants to know what's going on. Why is the prisoners' access to the outside world being restricted? Television, radio and cell-phones are banned. No more visits from family or friends. There can be only one answer. Zombie invasion.

The prison becomes a fortress. The guards team up with the prisoners. The walls are no longer for keeping the prisoners in, but keeping the undead out. But the Rake leaves the safety of the prison to track down her daughter, whom she fears is being abused by her father. Can she get across town to rescue her daughter and find a way to safety?

Zombie Lockdown has a strong female lead and ass-kicking reminiscent of Foxy Brown and Death Proof. It explores the themes of social standing and mobility in times of conflict. Sometimes it seems that the prisoners should be the ones with the rifles and the guards should be under their control. Has the situation reversed their roles or highlighted the inadequacies of the guards' abilities? When else could the lowest of the low in society become the general of the army of humanity?
