A “Baz Mantis” FILM
WRITTEN BY Baz Mantis

A small section of land in rural New Zealand has a secret history going back to when warlocks and magic ruled the South Pacific region. In distant ages, lost in the mists of time, a powerful warlock entered into battle with a rival magician. After a violent confrontation his rival was magically cast into and bound within a crystal, which was subsequently thrown into a deep crevice. The crevice is sealed shut but the crystal is shattered and the evil magicians spirit saturates and curses the land above it.

Upon this site many centuries later, after a spooky incident filled open home session, an old house with a local reputation for paranormal phenomena is successfully auctioned and rented out to a group of four friends and a dog: IT specialist Mike, photographer Vicky, artist Nicole, hospital orderly Markos, and Gruff the dog.

The group move in and strange events start to occur – flowers die within seconds of being planted, objects are pushed around by unseen hands, vivid nightmares plague the occupants, unexplained noises reverberate throughout the house and disturbing images appear in photographs taken around the property.

Events escalate in fatal fashion after two old wooden chairs with a nasty history are brought into the house after being picked up from a roadside free pile, and are instantly magnetized by the ancient evil which has possessed the land for hundreds of years.

The group in the house soon realise that their worst nightmares are about to become a terrifying reality as the two chairs, possessed by the evil spirit, begin their vengeful rampage after being unceremoniously dumped outside following a photo session with them which goes terribly wrong …
