DEEP SLEEP

It is 2018, and the Deep Sleep virus has ravaged the Earth. A man-made sleeping sickness, it sends its victims into a death-like coma, their last dreams turning to nightmares as organ failure leads to death. As humanity is decimated by the deadly contagion, the only way to stay alive is to stay awake.

A “Cosmo Kentish-Barnes” FILM
WRITTEN BY Cosmo Kentish-Barnes

In a small rural town, crooked pharmacist Carl Marks has kept sleep at bay for sixty days. Before the virus, he manufactured the illicit psycho-stimulant “Dethamphetamine” for a city drug dealer, and to survive, he has become addicted to his own product. Wandering the countryside in a speed-fuelled daze, he’s joined by Crystal, a damaged young woman who believes God has saved her to keep His words alive.
Using intravenous drugs and self-inflicted pain to stay awake until the virus dissipates, the pair form a disturbing bond as they descend into hallucinatory madness. But their problems multiply when Carl's sadistic dealer arrives to claim his Dethamphetamine, and as a terrifying sleep-deprived psychosis closes in, the fight for life is no longer just a mental battle…
