Deliver Us

A woman's irrational fear of her first grand-daughter turns to horror when a mysterious stranger invades the family home.

A “Paul Rothwell” FILM
WRITTEN BY Paul Rothwell

Cherie's relationship with her family is getting worse as she enters middle-age.

Seventeen year old son Dominic is troubled and resentful, waiting to be free of his parents. Nineteen year old Lauren is disinterested and self-obsessed, easily moving back into the family home to give birth to her first child to an unknown father. Her husband Merrick, who was looking forward to a child-free home and would rather see both his spoilt children leave the nest, is exasperated by the unfortunate turn of events that sees them all under one roof again. Cherie, however, is excited about the prospect of a new grandaughter.

That is, until the baby arrives home.

Cherie's excitement about Margo, the newborn baby turns into an obsession as she takes over its care from her daughter. She becomes possessive, then withdrawn, then fearful of little Margo. Because Margo isn't like Cherie's previous children. An ordinary newborn around everyone else, when the two of them are alone, Margo is silent and watchful. She moves around when Cherie's back is turned, and there are unexplained noises on the baby monitor...

When Cherie wakes in fright, believing she has seen Margo on their bedroom ceiling, Merrick tries to convince her that Lauren and Margo must go. But Cherie is adamant - Margo stays.

Late at night, when Cherie and Merrick are curled up alone on the couch trying to relax, a strange young man tricks his way into their remote country home.
He wants to see the baby.
He won't leave.

As the situation escalates, the family is drawn into the stranger's increasingly bizarre and violent games.

Just who - or what - is this mysterious baby?
And what does the young man want with it?

Before the night is over the stranger will have exposed the depths of Cherie's secret pain: blood will be shed, a young mother's desire to protect her child will be awakened, and a family will be destroyed.
