"EELEVATOR"

During the Storm of the century, an unlikely group of individuals seeking refuge in a derelict hotel must join forces to fight mutant killer Eels.

A “Thom Burton” FILM
WRITTEN BY Thom Burton

In a secret science laboratory in the cave riddled Waitomo area, a code-red meltdown occurs, and something is unleashed, killing its’ creators...

Nearby, two tweaked-out meth cooks, Rhys and Walsh, are about to make the sale of their careers to a fearsome gang boss at the derelict ‘Glowworm Hotel’.

The storm of the century hits and they find themselves stranded...with a few more seeking shelter. Nigel and Amanda [two highly strung restauranteurs on a recce - they’ve just bought the hotel] Nick [their accountant] and Inken, a heavily pregnant German tourist.

The storm closes the roads and wipes out phone reception. Night falls.

With his connection nowhere to be seen, Walsh, becoming increasingly paranoid, suspects one of the others is an undercover cop.
Nigel [making an “alpha-fail”] gets the brilliant idea to turn the power on, triggering the hotel’s service elevator door to open, spewing forth RAVENOUS MUTANT KILLER EELS!

During a frenzied attack, Rhys uses the case of merchandise as a shield and loses it into the mouth of one these monsters.

Enter Barry, a militant Maori activist, who wounds one of the Eels and buys the injured group some time.
They’ll need to figure out how to get to the next floor without using the rotted staircase.
To make things worse,Walsh assumes Barry is his connection. This doesn’t go well at all. Barry’s real reason for being there has more to do with the explosions at the lab upstream...

The survivors have two choices. Become Eel bait, or work together. With paranoia, suspicion, waters breaking, and the flood rising, this isn’t going to be easy...and it sounds like the Eels are getting jacked up on the drugs.

Scarier still, another discovery suggests the Eels being chased by something else...
