Auckland is being stalked by a psychotic serial killer who uses a anesthetic to paralyze victims, then, while they are wide awake, prepares their bodies for burial in a strange ritual which is filmed. Detective Tony Randell is put in charge of the case. A tough cop, even he is shaken to the core when he watches the horrific slow deaths from the films the killer sends him. No messages. Just the films. As if the killer is taunting him. And as he draws closer to the truth, nothing, and no-one, are what they seem.
