Australian-based Denise Mauritz is a good mother, at least she would be if it wasn't for her job - contract killing. After completing a particularly brutal yet lucrative kill, she is all but ready to turn her back on her career and finally put her young son, Peter, first.
Just when she is ready to give it all up, she gets a phone call from her former boss offering her one last contract, at a price she cannot ignore. The only problem? It's in Gore, New Zealand.
Not one to shy away from a challenge, she packs an overnight bag and jumps the ditch, arriving in the Southern town to find that all is normal. But as she follows the trail of her target, she discovers the mangled corpse of a previous hitman, and before she can get her bearings she finds herself caught up in a twisted game of cat and mouse.
With this unknown evil on her tail, and the whole town seemingly in on it, she is forced to team up with her target as they struggle to survive the night and get out of Gore alive.
