Worms Never Die

Following an unfortunate accident, Luke awakes in a locked room in a building that resonates the screams of endless suffering. When all signs indicate that his life of cheating and debauchery have imprisoned him in an eternity of torment, Luke's only option is to attempt an escape from the one place no one is ever allowed to leave.

A “Speak Evil Productions” FILM
WRITTEN BY Shaun Edlin & Lindsay Yee

A typical Monday is on the cards for Luke. A sick day skived off work; a rendezvous with his girlfriend’s best friend; a couple of spliffs in front of the television. Life is sweet- until tripping over his cat sends Luke head first through his coffee table, a shard of glass lodging itself firmly in his throat.

Luke awakes in a small, sterile room. On the wall is a screen flickering "WELCOME", and at one end of the room is a rust-covered, locked door. His throat appears to have been crudely stitched up by some unknown hand.

Searching the room for clues on how it was he had arrived at this mysterious location, the door lurches open - a pale stranger entering the room. The stranger offers no answers, but instead proceeds to introduce Luke to the most sadistic violence imaginable.

Luke re-awakes in the ominous room. Has he just been murdered? Is he experiencing some kind of hellish delirium?

Hour after hour, a dreaded visitation from the silent stranger occurs, each visit providing increasingly macabre forms of suffering and butchery.

When all hope seems lost in an endless nightmare, Luke realises he is not alone in this place. He hears whispers from a room next to his; someone who has been suffering the same pain for much longer than himself; someone who is working on a way out and can take Luke with him.

Together, Luke and his new mysterious companion must find a way out of not only their prison-like rooms, but a cadaverous multistory building; each of its nine floors squeezed with countless individuals subjected to different, horrendous forms of torture. Is this some barbarous construction from which Luke can find escape and solace, or is he instead trapped in an eternal, Dante-esque Hell?
